Where We Are
The Flowing Spring Grubcard

Our local branch of the Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA voted The Flowing Spring Pub of the Year 2018. This is an immense achievement of which we are truly proud, having purchased the pub from Fuller's the previous summer. The Pub of the Year award is the CAMRA branch’s highest accolade. Out of 120 pubs in the branch area, the Flowing Spring was judged to be the best overall.  To win the award, the pub must not only serve beer consistently in excellent condition, but provide a friendly environment and welcome to both regular customers and visitors and support for its local community.

We have been listed in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide for seven years running, including the 2019 edition and voted South Oxfordshire CAMRA Pub of the Season twice.

The Flowing Spring became a Free House on 30 June 2017 when Nick and Hazel bought the freehold from Fuller's having been Fuller's tenants at the pub for 6 years. As a Free House we have the freedom to stock a whole range of drinks to satisfy everyone, including those with dietary needs and preferences, just as we do when designing our meals. And, as a destination pub, with most customers taking the trouble to drive here, we think it’s right to offer a comprehensive range of alcohol-free drinks, including ales, lagers and ciders.

Our drinks information below features similar symbols to those on our food menus, with G denoting gluten-free and VN denoting vegan (also suitable for vegetarians, of course). We have also added A to denote low alcohol or alcohol-free content. It's worth noting that all our wines are vegan.

We stock Ridgeway from Tring Brewery (4.0%) as our permanent premium beer, brewed with English malts and fruity Styrian Goldings hops, and Fuller's ESB as our permanent strong one.
Our other four real ales constantly change, always with a session ale (under 4.0%) plus a fine selection from 4% upwards. Take a look at what ales are on now and what's coming up in the right hand column.
Please note most cask ales are neither gluten-free nor vegan.

In addition to the list below, we feature Still Ciders which change frequently and well worth a try.

We’re delighted to offer Young’s London Stout which won silver medal in the International Brewing Awards 2017, the deliciously smooth Cotswold Pale from Hook Norton and the popular Hiver honey beer from South London which funds and supports pollinator charities. And we have an alcohol free beer on tap too: the top-selling Adnams Ghost Ship (0.5%).
We also feature still ciders (the big glass jars in the fridge) which are well worth a try.
