Moonage Unplugged at The Flowing Spring

Moonage Unplugged

A rare opportunity to hear a selection of Bowie's songs unplugged performed by the Moonage trio

Saturday 7 March

As everyone knows we're huge Moonage fans and have been since they formed over 3 years ago. The 7-piece Bowie tribute band has grown into a hugely popular touring act, playing theatres, venues and festivals across the UK.

We were also the first to book Moonage Unplugged, the 3-piece version who perform popular and lesser known Bowie tracks with just vocals, guitars and piano.

A year on from Moonage Unplugged's first booking, we welcome them back to our Acoustic Lounge.

This is a rare treat, not to be missed.

Featuring Andrew on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Paul on acoustic and electric guitars and Ollie on keys and backing vocals.

Pretty Green, a tribute to The Jam at The Flowing Spring, Saturday 21 March 2026

Pretty Green

A tribute to The Jam

Saturday 21 March

Pretty Green is a hard working and dedicated band from Burnley in Lancashire who are passionately devoted to the music of The Jam.

We have had the pleasure of seeing Pretty Green live in Brighton and they are absolutely top notch, both vocally and musically.

Whether it is a complex song like Burning Sky or Scrape Away or a classic like Going Underground or Start, you will be blown away by their musical talent and commitment to getting things right and sounding right.

What makes Pretty Green stand out from other Jam tributes is the front man who is in his very early twenties, with his controlled aggression, guitar playing and singing, mirroring a young Paul Weller.

Covering all albums, B sides and singles, this really will be a night to remember.

Fans of The Jam will not be disappointed.

Live Music in the Garden Charity Fundraiser

in aid of Blood Cancer UK, a memorial to Dave Robinson

Sunday 17 May, 2pm to 8pm

We're holding a very special afternoon and evening of live music in the garden to remember Dave Robinson, a good friend to many of us here, who passed away in the summer having suffered from Blood Cancer.

In discussions with Dave's wife, Isobel, we're very happy to host some excellent bands and musicians on the Rose Stage and in one of the marquees, all of whom knew Dave and who want to help raise funds for Blood Cancer UK.

You will get to see some fantastic musicians and hear loads of great songs.

We're therefore setting a donation price of £10 for this event, 100% of which goes to the charity. You can pay by cash donation direct to us at the pub in advance or pay online (although with card payments we will lose a small portion in merchant fees).

On top of this £10 donation, we ask that everyone brings cash on the day to dump in our collection buckets.

Collecting donations for this special charity is the main purpose for holding this day, so please be as generous as you can.

Among the acts (there will be more) are:

Moonshine (Southern US Rock)  - see them here first on Friday 6 March

Rotherfield Walking Football Club musicians  (Dave was part of this great walking football club)

The Incredible Spring Band, reforming for this one-off gig!  A very special treat by 6 local legendary musicians getting back together to play a great selection of rock covers

The Ding Dong Daddios  - the amazing swing and jive quartet, performing across the UK for 25 years

Stanley Dee

A tribute to Steely Dan - with a lot of fun thrown in!

Friday 7 August

Many of you will remember Stanley Dee when they played here at Springstock in the summer of 2019. Having seen them recently in London, we just had to get them back. They know how to get the crowd up, enjoying this fine music.

Packed with top notch musicians and fronted by the highly excitable Cavan Daly, this band is highly entertaining and, of course, provides you with all the Steely Dan indulgence you could wish for.

As the band explains: "We love the music of Becker and Fagen, and it makes us happy. Audiences can tell from the way some of us bounce around on stage, and the way we all have large smiles plastered on our faces most of the time. This music is FUN!

"Which is not to say that we treat the music lightly. This stuff is hard to do well, and we pride ourselves on recreating the authentic sounds, down to the details of the amazing solos and the intricate vocal harmonies."

The band comprises:

  • Don Ellis – Drums
  • Mark McCormack – Bass
  • Steve Thurlow – Keyboards
  • Derek Walker – Saxophone
  • Steve Joy – Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Acoustic Guitar
  • Jon Russell – Guitar
  • Katie Ayres – Vocals

The Flowing Spring Gigs in the Garden 2026
Jagged Little Alanis at The Flowing Spring, Saturday 5 September 2026

Jagged Little Alanis + Selina and the Howlin' Dogs

Two great acts in one night!

Saturday 5 September

Both these bands have performed here in the Acoustic Lounge and they deserve to be promoted to The Rose Stage for a special night of rock music.

Jagged Little Alanis is, in our opinion, the very best tribute you'll see to Alanis Morissette. This five-piece band gets everything spot on, with Sarah's look and vocal delivery as close as you can get to the great Alanis.

The band covers a wide range of her best-known hits, mostly from the 1995 album Jagged Little Pill, which sold more than 33 million copies globally and is her most critically acclaimed work to date. Covering all the hits such as Ironic, You Oughta Know, Hand in my Pocket, Head over Feet, All I Really want to name just a few.

Selina and the Howlin' Dogs will be performing on stage too. We're delighted they will be joining us for this special evening. The 4-piece band plays all original songs: upbeat, funky blues, modern and highly catchy. Their new single is out now called Gemima.

Supersonic Queen at The Flowing Spring, Friday 11 September 2026

Supersonic Queen

Friday 11 September

Supersonic Queen graced The Rose Stage here last summer and it was fab! The band is superb, Freddie is great fun and gets the audience thoroughly involved. It's a brilliant show that does Queen proud.

With an unparalleled energy and charisma, this totally live 5-piece band deliver the best Queen tribute you will see today. In 2025 they played over 100 gigs. That's how in demand they are! See them here on Friday 11 September, the grand finale to 2026's Gigs in the Garden.

A video of the band playing Radio-Ga-Ga here last year is below.
