Kings & Bears at The Flowing Spring

Hazel's Birthday Bash

Kings & Bears

Saturday 7 December 8:30pm

Kings & Bears are playing at Hazel's birthday bash this year!

After playing at our Hats Off to the Writers festival in September, this is a highly energetic rock trio with great chunks of reggae, soul and funk in the mix.

They’ve carved out a reputation as an unmissable live experience, an explosion of music and jubilation, a sonic love bomb aimed straight at your heart.

With resounding endorsements from BBC Introducing and airplay on the airwaves of Radio 1, Radio 6, Kerrang (selected by SKINDRED’s Benji Webbe), Planet Rock, and supports for Gentleman’s Dub Club, Neville Staples, Dub Pistols and KOG, they’ve captured the hearts of listeners far and wide. Their fan base is more than just a following – it’s a tribe of dedicated souls, filling up sold-out venues and festival stages, ignited by infectious musical energy.

The gig will take place in the Acoustic Lounge.

Rocket Kings Christmas at The Flowing Spring

Rocket Kings Christmas Party

Saturday 14 December 8:30pm

We welcome back the Rocket Kings, this time for their Christmas celebrations.

Rocket Kings are Reading's masters of UkePop, with bags of original songs to make you tap your feet, sing along and smile.

The band released their second album ‘Paving the Way' last year to glowing reviews.

  • "Harmonious, easy going and melodic with a 10/10 feel-good factor, Rocket Kings deliver a sound that will happily settle in your ears and leave you humming along unconsciously." ~ Amplify Music Magazine
  • "You get the feeling that this is a group of friends getting together and having the best time. They radiate positive vibes whilst blending catchy tunes and harmonies over rock/pop with a side hustle of folk." ~ Joyzine
  • "What you'd imagine The Beautiful South would sound like had their roots been in the pastoral south of England rather than its industrial north. Delicate and delicious in equal measure" ~ The Big Takeover
  • "A true sonic thrill"... The Spill Magazine
  • "I want to listen to this album while going to the beach or having a garden party. I’ve never had a garden party but there should be Rocket Kings playing and umbrellas in our strawberry lemonades." Chasing Destino
  • "As some wise soul once proclaimed, “This Is Pop!” and it holds true here... Let it move you, make you dance, toss your cares to the wind; it’s that infectious, that compelling." ~ The Big Takeover
  • "She’s going to Mars' is a... "powerful Uke Pop banger, a catchy tune to shake a leg or go to space to." ~ MangoWave Music Magazine

The gig will take place in the Acoustic Lounge.

The Trembling Wilburys to play at The Flowing Spring, 21 June 2025

The Trembling Wilburys

Saturday 21 June 2025

The World’s Greatest Tribute to the Traveling Wilburys

The Traveling Wilburys never played live as sadly the great “Big O” (Roy Orbison) passed away shortly after the release of their debut album “Volume 1” in late 1988.

Luckily, the Trembling Wilburys can bring you their version of the “show that never was” with an incredibly uplifting 90-minutes plus of fantastic music.

In addition, the band features two of the most acclaimed sound-alikes of any tribute act with John Brosnan (of the “Let It Be” stage show) performing as George Harrison, while Dave Collison perfectly captures Roy Orbison’s unique vocal range and look.

We've seen these chaps perform in London. They're great fun and the music is just wonderful.

It's a very rare chance to see them perform live outside the capital!
